relating to agriculture; appropriating money for grants to the Northern Crops
Institute; requiring a report.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION.

new text begin (a) $47,000 in fiscal year 2022 and $47,000 in fiscal year 2023 are appropriated from
the general fund to the commissioner of agriculture for grants to the Northern Crops Institute.
The Northern Crops Institute may spend the grant money to purchase equipment.

new text begin (b) The Northern Crops Institute must prepare a report outlining the use of the grant
money and related accomplishments. No later than January 15, 2023, the institute must
submit the report to the chairs and ranking minority members of the legislative committees
and divisions with jurisdiction over agriculture finance and policy.
