  1.1                          A bill for an act
  1.2             relating to appropriations; appropriating money for 
  1.3             continuation of research on amphibian deformities. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.6      $500,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the 
  1.7   commissioner of the pollution control agency for acceleration of 
  1.8   research being conducted on deformities and possible causes 
  1.9   found in amphibians.  The funding must be shared with the 
  1.10  departments of agriculture, natural resources, and health and 
  1.11  with the appropriate University of Minnesota departments.  The 
  1.12  money must be used for research and monitoring of amphibian 
  1.13  deformities, including, but not limited to, a possible 
  1.14  groundwater surface water interconnection.  The money may be 
  1.15  used as a match for any federal dollars available.
