  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to transportation; authorizing bonds; 
  1.3             appropriating money. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [NEW HIGHWAY 212.] 
  1.6      Subdivision 1.  [APPROPRIATION.] $250,000,000 is 
  1.7   appropriated to the commissioner of transportation from a bond 
  1.8   proceeds account established for the bonds issued under 
  1.9   subdivision 2.  The appropriation is for construction, 
  1.10  reconstruction, and improvement of a trunk highway marked No. 
  1.11  212 over the mostly new roadway proposed for new trunk highway 
  1.12  marked No. 212 from the intersection of trunk highway marked No. 
  1.13  5 and Prairie Center Drive in Hennepin county to the 
  1.14  intersection of old highway 212 with the easterly boundary of 
  1.15  the city of Norwood Young America in Carver county. 
  1.16     Subd. 2.  [TRUNK HIGHWAY BONDS.] To provide the money 
  1.17  appropriated in subdivision 1 from the bond proceeds account 
  1.18  described in subdivision 1, the commissioner of finance is 
  1.19  authorized and directed, on request of the commissioner of 
  1.20  transportation and with the approval of the governor, to issue 
  1.21  and sell Minnesota trunk highway bonds under Minnesota Statutes, 
  1.22  sections 167.50 to 167.52 to the extent consistent with this 
  1.23  act, and of the Minnesota Constitution, article XI, sections 4 
  1.24  to 7, and article XIV, section 11, at the time and in the 
  2.1   amounts requested by the commissioner of transportation.  
  2.2      Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  2.3      This act is effective the day after its final enactment.
