  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to health; modifying requirements for 
  1.3             inspections of food, beverage, and lodging 
  1.4             establishments; amending Minnesota Statutes 2002, 
  1.5             section 157.20, subdivision 1. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2002, section 157.20, 
  1.8   subdivision 1, is amended to read: 
  1.9      Subdivision 1.  [INSPECTIONS.] (a) It shall be the duty of 
  1.10  the commissioner to inspect, or cause to be inspected, every 
  1.11  food and beverage service establishment, hotel, motel, lodging 
  1.12  establishment, or resort.  For the purpose of conducting 
  1.13  inspections, the commissioner shall have the right to enter and 
  1.14  have access thereto at any time during the conduct of business. 
  1.15     (b) The commissioner shall provide adequate training for 
  1.16  persons conducting inspections under this section to ensure that 
  1.17  the provisions of this chapter and rules adopted thereunder are 
  1.18  applied consistently throughout the state.
