A bill for an act
relating to corrections; appropriating funds for additional correctional workers.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS; ADDITIONAL EMPLOYEES;
APPROPRIATION.

new text begin (a) $....... is appropriated to the commissioner of corrections from the general fund
for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2015, for additional staff in facilities operated by the
commissioner.

new text begin (b) The commissioner must use this appropriation to hire:
new text end

new text begin (1) 26 additional correctional officers and two additional office administrative
specialists at the Minnesota Correctional Facility-Stillwater;
new text end

new text begin (2) four additional correctional officers and one additional general maintenance
worker at the Minnesota Correctional Facility-Lino Lakes;
new text end

new text begin (3) three additional correctional officers and two additional licensed nurse
practitioners at the Minnesota Correctional Facility-Shakopee;
new text end

new text begin (4) five additional correctional officers at the Minnesota Correctional Facility-Oak
Park Heights;
new text end

new text begin (5) nine additional correctional officers at the Minnesota Correctional Facility-Rush
City;
new text end

new text begin (6) five additional correctional officers and two additional office administrative
specialists at the Minnesota Correctional Facility-Faribault; and
new text end

new text begin (7) eight additional correctional officers, three additional general repair workers,
and two additional office administrative specialists at the Minnesota Correctional
Facility-Moose Lake.

new text begin (c) The positions specified in paragraph (b) are new positions intended to supplement
current staffing levels at the designated facilities.
