A bill for an act
relating to state government; providing a certain
preference in state purchasing; amending Minnesota
Statutes 2004, section 16C.16, by adding a subdivision.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
Section 1.
Minnesota Statutes 2004, section 16C.16, is
amended by adding a subdivision to read:

For purposes of state
purchasing, the commissioner may award a bid preference to motor
vehicles manufactured in Minnesota. The amount of the
preference must be the same as the amount of the preference
awarded to businesses located in an economically disadvantaged
area.
