A bill for an act
relating to labor and industry; requiring electrical inspections to continue in the
event of a government shutdown; appropriating money; amending Minnesota
Statutes 2010, section 326B.36, by adding a subdivision; Laws 2011, First
Special Session chapter 4, article 1, section 5, subdivision 3.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
Minnesota Statutes 2010, section 326B.36, is amended by adding a
subdivision to read:

Notwithstanding
any other law to the contrary, in the event an appropriations bill funding electrical
inspections is not enacted before July 1 of an odd-numbered year, the existing
appropriation amounts pertaining to that bill for the fiscal year ending that June 30 are in
effect again at the base level through the fiscal year beginning July 1 of that odd-numbered
year, except as otherwise modified by the legislature. The amounts needed to implement
this subdivision are appropriated from the electrical inspection fees recovered.

general fund for the labor standards and
apprenticeship program.

fund to reimburse the Construction Codes
and Licensing Division for transfers made
out of the inspections fees account.
