  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to unemployment insurance; allowing the 
  1.3             Perpich Center for Arts Education to elect coverage 
  1.4             for certain positions.  
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [ELECTION OF UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE COVERAGE; 
  1.7   PERPICH CENTER FOR ARTS EDUCATION.] 
  1.8      The director of the Perpich Center for Arts Education must 
  1.9   file with the commissioner of employment and economic 
  1.10  development under Minnesota Statutes, section 268.042, a written 
  1.11  election to make employment in a position authorized by 
  1.12  Minnesota Statutes, section 43A.08, subdivision 1a, covered 
  1.13  employment for the years 2002 and 2003.  The commissioner is 
  1.14  authorized to and must give approval to the application 
  1.15  retroactive for the years 2002 and 2003.  
  1.16     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.17     Section 1 is effective retroactively from January 1, 2002.
