relating to Metropolitan Airports Commission; requiring environmental
planning; requiring a report.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin EMISSIONS INVENTORY AND IMPLEMENTATION PLAN.

new text begin The Metropolitan Airports Commission shall prepare an inventory of carbon
emissions currently generated by operations at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International
Airport as well as all reliever and other airports under the control of the commission.
The Metropolitan Airports Commission shall develop an implementation plan to reduce
these carbon emissions on the schedule provided and by the percentages provided in
the greenhouse gas emission goals established in Minnesota Statutes, section 216H.02,
subdivision 1. The implementation plan must include, but is not limited to, reduction
of on-site energy consumption, increased recycling, and planning for travel demand
management.

implementation plan required by section 1 to the legislature by January 1, 2010.
