A bill for an act
relating to judiciary; requiring a minimum of three satellite court facilities in
Hennepin County; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter
488A.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

new text begin Hennepin County shall provide suitable facilities for holding regular terms of
court in Minneapolis and at suburban locations dispersed throughout the county, as
designated by a majority of the judges of the district court. There shall be a minimum of
three suburban locations, which must be located in the northern, western, and southern
suburban areas. At the locations established pursuant to this section, all functions of the
court may be discharged, including both court and jury trials of civil and criminal matters.
Nothing in this section shall be construed to require a municipality to be responsible
for costs listed in section 484.77.
