  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to highways; directing commissioner of 
  1.3             transportation to place directional signs for certain 
  1.4             colleges and universities on I-94. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [POLICY REGARDING DIRECTIONAL SIGNS.] 
  1.7      The commissioner of transportation shall abolish its policy 
  1.8   against installing directional signs for colleges and 
  1.9   universities within the area bounded by marked interstate 
  1.10  highways Nos. I-494 and I-694. 
  1.11     Sec. 2.  [SIGNS ON I-94.] 
  1.12     Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, section 173.081, the 
  1.13  commissioner shall install appropriate directional signs 
  1.14  identifying the exits from marked interstate highway No. I-94 
  1.15  for the following colleges and universities: 
  1.16     (1) College of St. Catherine, to be combined with existing 
  1.17  signs for University of St. Thomas, at Cretin Avenue; 
  1.18     (2) Macalester College, Hamline University, and Concordia 
  1.19  University, eastbound only, at Snelling Avenue; 
  1.20     (3) Concordia University, westbound only, at Hamline 
  1.21  Avenue; and 
  1.22     (4) William Mitchell College of Law at Lexington Avenue.
