  1.1                          A bill for an act
  1.2             relating to education; authorizing an adjustment to 
  1.3             the referendum revenue subtraction for independent 
  1.4             school district No. 309, Park Rapids. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [REFERENDUM AUTHORITY; PARK RAPIDS.] 
  1.7      Subdivision 1.  [REVENUE.] Notwithstanding the reduction 
  1.8   required by Minnesota Statutes, section 124A.03, subdivision 3b, 
  1.9   the referendum revenue allowance for independent school district 
  1.10  No. 309, Park Rapids, is $315 per pupil unit.  This referendum 
  1.11  authorization is available for the number of years specified by 
  1.12  the ballot question that was approved in June of 1995. 
  1.13     Subd. 2.  [LEVY RECLASSIFICATION.] Independent school 
  1.14  district No. 309, Park Rapids, may reclassify as payable 1996 
  1.15  referendum levy other payable 1996 levies.  The amount 
  1.16  reclassified may not exceed the difference between the levy 
  1.17  authority authorized in subdivision 1 and the amount of 
  1.18  referendum levy certified by the district for taxes payable in 
  1.19  1996.  Any reclassified levy is not subject to the market value 
  1.20  requirement in Minnesota Statutes, section 124A.03, subdivision 
  1.21  2a. 
  1.22     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.23     Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment 
  1.24  and applies for revenue for 1996-1997 and later school years.
