A bill for an act
relating to game and fish; allowing two lines for angling to take fish with
second-line endorsement; amending Minnesota Statutes 2016, section 97C.315,
subdivision 1.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2016, section 97C.315, subdivision 1, is amended to read:


Subdivision 1.

Lines.

An angler may not use more than one line except:

(1) two lines may be used to take fish through the ice; deleted text begin and

(2) the commissioner may, by rule, authorize the use of two lines in areas designated by

new text begin (3) two lines may be used to take fish during the open-water season by a resident or
nonresident angler who purchases a second-line endorsement for $5. Of the amount collected
from purchases of second-line endorsements, 50 percent must be spent on walleye stocking.
