A bill for an act
relating to agriculture; temporarily lifting the monetary mediation threshold for
poultry producers directly affected by avian influenza.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin TEMPORARY FARMER-LENDER MEDIATION THRESHOLD
EXEMPTION.

new text begin In calendar years 2015 and 2016, the $5,000 minimum threshold under Minnesota
Statutes, sections 336.9-601, 550.365, 559.209, and 582.039, does not apply to a
commercial poultry producer directly affected by the 2015 highly pathogenic avian
influenza outbreak, as certified by the commissioner of agriculture.
