  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to health; requiring the commissioner of 
  1.3             health to classify certain loans made under the rural 
  1.4             hospital capital improvement grant and loan program; 
  1.5             amending Minnesota Statutes 2002, section 144.148, by 
  1.6             adding a subdivision. 
  1.7   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.8      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2002, section 144.148, is 
  1.9   amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.10     Subd. 9.  [STATUS OF PREVIOUS AWARDS.] The commissioner 
  1.11  must regard grants or loans awarded to eligible rural hospitals 
  1.12  before August 1, 1999, as grants subject to the conditions of 
  1.13  this section and not subject to repayment as loans under 
  1.14  Minnesota Statutes 1998, section 144.148.
