A bill for an act
relating to judiciary; prohibiting use of state funds to expand audio and video
coverage in criminal proceedings.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin PROHIBITION ON USE OF STATE FUNDS; AUDIO AND VIDEO
COVERAGE IN CRIMINAL PROCEEDINGS.

new text begin No state funds appropriated in fiscal years 2016 and 2017 to the Supreme Court or
district courts may be used to expand or amend the use of audio and video coverage of
criminal proceedings authorized under Rule 4.02(c) of the General Rules of Practice for
the District Courts, as effective on July 1, 2011, or any successor court rule, on a pilot,
temporary, or permanent basis.
