A bill for an act
relating to metropolitan government; providing for redistricting of the Metropolitan
Council districts; amending Minnesota Statutes 2022, section 473.123, by adding
a subdivision; repealing Minnesota Statutes 2022, section 473.123, subdivision
3e.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2022, section 473.123, is amended by adding a subdivision
to read:

new text begin Metropolitan Council plan MC2023-2, on file with the
Geographical Information Systems Office of the Legislative Coordinating Commission and
published on its website on March 21, 2023, is adopted and constitutes the redistricting plan
required by subdivision 3a. The boundaries of each Metropolitan Council district are as
described in that plan.

new text begin This act applies in the counties of Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, Scott,
and Washington.

473.123 METROPOLITAN COUNCIL.

Subd. 3e.

District boundaries.

Metropolitan Council plan MC2013-1A, on file with the Geographical Information Systems Office of the Legislative Coordinating Commission and published on its website on April 9, 2013, is adopted and constitutes the redistricting plan required by subdivision 3a. The boundaries of each Metropolitan Council district are as described in that plan.
