A bill for an act
relating to transportation; imposing a surcharge on outdoor advertising permits;
appropriating money for removal of dilapidated billboards; proposing coding for
new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 173.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

[173.071] SURCHARGE ON PERMITS; APPROPRIATION.

The commissioner of transportation shall collect a $500 surcharge, in addition to any
fee, on a permit or renewal of a permit for the placement and maintenance of advertising
devices. The surcharge money collected is appropriated to the commissioner to acquire
and remove dilapidated advertising devices.
