  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to retirement; appropriating money as 1996 
  1.3             police state aid; ratifying the calculation of certain 
  1.4             1996 police state aid amounts. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [PAYMENT OF CERTAIN OMITTED POLICE STATE AID 
  1.7   AMOUNTS.] 
  1.8      (a) The legislature determines that certain police state 
  1.9   aid recipients received less police state aid in September 1996 
  1.10  than was intended by virtue of drafting deficiencies in Laws 
  1.11  1996, chapter 390, sections 26 to 30. 
  1.12     (b) There is hereby appropriated as 1996 police state aid 
  1.13  the following amounts to the following governmental entities:

  1.23    (8) South St. Paul                          32,377  
  1.24     (c) For purposes of the actuarial valuation of police 
  1.25  relief associations as of December 31, 1996, and for purposes of 
  2.1   the calculation of the annual financial requirements of the 
  2.2   police relief association under Minnesota Statutes, section 
  2.3   69.77, the amounts specified in paragraph (b) shall be treated 
  2.4   as assets of the relief association as of that date. 
  2.5      (d) Amounts paid as police state aid in September 1996, to 
  2.6   the following municipalities are hereby ratified as the intended 
  2.7   1996 police state aid payment amounts: 
  2.8     (1) Albert Lea; 
  2.9     (2) Anoka; 
  2.10    (3) Austin; 
  2.11    (4) Bloomington; 
  2.12    (5) Buhl; 
  2.13    (6) Chisholm; 
  2.14    (7) Columbia Heights; 
  2.15    (8) Crystal; 
  2.16    (9) Duluth; 
  2.17    (10) Fridley; 
  2.18    (11) Hibbing; 
  2.19    (12) New Ulm;  
  2.20    (13) Red Wing; 
  2.21    (14) Richfield; 
  2.22    (15) Rochester; 
  2.23    (16) St. Louis Park; 
  2.24    (17) St. Paul; 
  2.25    (18) West St. Paul; and 
  2.26    (19) Winona. 
  2.27     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  2.28     Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
