A bill for an act
relating to judiciary; requiring an oath of office for justices and judges;
withholding salary for noncompliance; amending Minnesota Statutes 2014,
section 480A.02, subdivision 1; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota
Statutes, chapters 480; 484.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

new text begin Before entering upon the duties of office, each justice of the
Supreme Court shall take and subscribe an oath in the form prescribed by law for judicial
officers. The oath shall be filed with the secretary of state.

new text begin Salary payment. new text end

new text begin No part of the salary of a justice of the Supreme Court
shall be paid unless the voucher therefore be accompanied by a certificate of the justice
indicating compliance with this section.

Sec. 2.

Minnesota Statutes 2014, section 480A.02, subdivision 1, is amended to read:


Subdivision 1.

Oath.
