  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to crime prevention; appropriating money for 
  1.3             the continuation of the center for reducing rural 
  1.4             violence.  
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.7      $425,000 is appropriated for the fiscal year ending June 
  1.8   30, 2000, and $425,000 is appropriated for the fiscal year 
  1.9   ending June 30, 2001, from the general fund to the commissioner 
  1.10  of public safety for use by the center for reducing rural 
  1.11  violence in continuing the technical assistance and related 
  1.12  violence prevention services it currently offers to rural 
  1.13  communities. 
  1.14     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.15     Section 1 is effective July 1, 1999.
