  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to transportation; prohibiting commissioner 
  1.3             of transportation from providing free highway 
  1.4             assistance to motorists; proposing coding for new law 
  1.5             in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 174. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  [174.028] [HIGHWAY HELPER PROHIBITION.] 
  1.8      The commissioner shall not assign any employees of the 
  1.9   department of transportation with the duties of assisting any 
  1.10  motorist with starting, repairing, maintaining, or otherwise 
  1.11  rendering operable the motorist's motor vehicle, which has 
  1.12  stalled, become inoperable, or otherwise become incapable of 
  1.13  normal movement under its own power.
