relating to transportation; prohibiting local contribution for busway operating costs;
proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 473.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

new text begin (a) For purposes of this section, the following terms have
the meanings given.

new text begin (b) "Busway" has the meaning given in section 473.4485, subdivision 1.

new text begin (c) "Guideway" has the meaning given in section 473.4485, subdivision 1, paragraph
(d), clause (2).

new text begin (d) "Local governmental unit" has the meaning given in section 473.121, subdivision 6.

new text begin Money from a local governmental unit must not be used to
pay costs of operation or maintenance for a busway or guideway.

new text begin EFFECTIVE DATE. new text end

new text begin This section is effective July 1, 2021, and applies to busways
and guideways that begin revenue operations on or after that date.
