  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to education; appropriating money for grants 
  1.3             to independent school district No. 707, Nett Lake, for 
  1.4             insurance and unemployment compensation; amending Laws 
  1.5             1995, First Special Session chapter 3, article 8, 
  1.6             section 25, subdivision 12. 
  1.7   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.8      Section 1.  Laws 1995, First Special Session chapter 3, 
  1.9   article 8, section 25, subdivision 12, is amended to read: 
  1.10     Subd. 12.  [NETT LAKE.] For grants to independent school 
  1.11  district No. 707, Nett Lake: 
  1.12       $62,000     .....     1996 
  1.13       $62,000     .....     1997 
  1.14     $32,000 in 1996 and $32,000 in 1997 are for grants to 
  1.15  independent school district No. 707, Nett Lake, to pay property 
  1.16  insurance and boiler insurance premiums, and insurance premiums 
  1.17  under Minnesota Statutes, section 466.06. 
  1.18     $30,000 in 1996 and $30,000 in 1997 are for grants to 
  1.19  independent school district No. 707, Nett Lake, for the payment 
  1.20  of obligations of the school district for unemployment 
  1.21  compensation.  The appropriation must be paid to the appropriate 
  1.22  state agency for such purposes in the name of the school 
  1.23  district. 
  1.24     Sec. 2.  [APPROPRIATIONS.] 
  1.25     Subdivision 1.  [DEPARTMENT OF CHILDREN, FAMILIES, AND 
  1.26  LEARNING.] The sums indicated in this section are appropriated 
  2.1   from the general fund to the commissioner of children, families, 
  2.2   and learning for the fiscal years designated. 
  2.3      Subd. 2.  [NETT LAKE.] For grants to independent school 
  2.4   district No. 707, Nett Lake: 
  2.5        $79,000     .....     1998 
  2.6        $60,000     .....     1999 
  2.7      $19,000 in 1998 is for a grant to independent school 
  2.8   district No. 707, Nett Lake, to reimburse the district for 
  2.9   property and boiler insurance premiums paid in fiscal year 1996. 
  2.10     $30,000 in 1998 and $30,000 in 1999 are for grants to 
  2.11  independent school district No. 707, Nett Lake, to pay property 
  2.12  insurance and boiler insurance premiums, and insurance premiums 
  2.13  under Minnesota Statutes, section 466.06. 
  2.14     $30,000 in 1998 and $30,000 in 1999 are for grants to 
  2.15  independent school district No. 707, Nett Lake, for the payment 
  2.16  of obligations of the school district for unemployment 
  2.17  compensation.  The appropriation must be paid to the appropriate 
  2.18  state agency for such purposes in the name of the school 
  2.19  district. 
  2.20     Sec. 3.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  2.21     Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
