A bill for an act
relating to the military; appropriating money for postdeployment health
assessments; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 192.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

new text begin [192.525] POSTDEPLOYMENT HEALTH ASSESSMENTS.

new text begin The adjutant general shall establish a program of postdeployment health assessments
for members of the National Guard who have been called into active military service and
deployed outside the state. There must be health assessments approximately six months
and one year after the end of a member's deployment. The adjutant general may call on
other state agencies, the United States Department of Veterans Affairs, county veteran
service officers, and other appropriate resources in administering this program.

Sec. 2. new text begin APPROPRIATION.

program in Minnesota Statutes, section 192.525. This appropriation is available until
June 30, 2011.
