 relating to public health; expanding the definition of smoking under the Clean
Indoor Air Act; amending Minnesota Statutes 2014, section 144.413, subdivision

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2014, section 144.413, subdivision 4, is amended to read:


Subd. 4.

Smoking.

"Smoking" means inhaling or exhaling deleted text begin smokedeleted text end new text begin a substance
containing tobacco or nicotinenew text end from any lightednew text begin or heatednew text end cigar, cigarette, pipe, or
any other lightednew text begin or heatednew text end tobacco or plant productnew text begin , including an electronic cigarettenew text end .
Smoking also deleted text begin includes carrying adeleted text end new text begin means possession of anynew text end lightednew text begin or heatednew text end cigar,
cigarette, pipe, or any other lightednew text begin or heatednew text end tobacco or plant product intended for
inhalationnew text begin , including an electronic cigarettenew text end .
