  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to public safety; appropriating money for 
  1.3             driver improvement pilot project. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION; DRIVER IMPROVEMENT PILOT 
  1.6   PROJECT.] 
  1.7      $....... is appropriated from the trunk highway fund to the 
  1.8   commissioner of public safety to implement a driver improvement 
  1.9   pilot project.  The commissioner shall consult with the Hennepin 
  1.10  county district court and provide access to two driver 
  1.11  improvement specialists to provide driver's license services for 
  1.12  Hennepin county and West Metro residents attempting to regain 
  1.13  driving privileges after their driving privileges have been 
  1.14  revoked, suspended, or canceled.  The commissioner shall acquire 
  1.15  space for the specialists to be available at or near the 
  1.16  Hennepin county government center in Minneapolis, preferably on 
  1.17  the skyway level.
