A bill for an act
relating to insurance; limiting co-payments for prescription drugs and related
medical supplies prescribed to treat a chronic disease; proposing coding for new
law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 62Q.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

CHRONIC DISEASE.

new text begin Co-payment limit. new text end

new text begin A health plan that imposes co-payments on the
coverage of prescription drugs must limit the amount of any co-payment to $25 per
one-month supply for prescription drugs prescribed to treat a chronic disease and related
medical supplies necessary to administer the prescription drugs.

new text begin For purposes of this section, "chronic disease"
means diabetes, asthma, and allergies requiring the use of epinephrine auto-injectors.

plans offered, issued, and renewed on or after that date.
