A bill for an act
relating to human services; modifying medical assistance coverage for
chiropractic services; amending Minnesota Statutes 2014, section 256B.0625,
subdivision 8e.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2014, section 256B.0625, subdivision 8e, is amended to
read:


Subd. 8e.

Chiropractic services.

established patients;

new text begin (3) medical supplies and equipment supplied or prescribed by a chiropractor;

new text begin (4) therapeutic services, as defined in section 148.01, subdivision 1, clause (6); and

new text begin (5) diagnostic services necessary for examination and diagnosis.

new text begin (b) Chiropractic services also include any other therapy or service covered by medical
assistance that falls within the scope of chiropractic practice, as defined in section 148.01.

new text begin (c) Treatments and services provided by a chiropractor shall be reimbursed on an
equal basis with the highest reimbursement level for the treatment or service if provided
by a physician, osteopath, or other provider.

new text begin (d) Notwithstanding any other law to the contrary, this subdivision applies to
payments for services provided through fee-for-service arrangements, prepaid health
plans, or other mechanisms.
