  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to commerce; regulating new motor vehicle 
  1.3             warranties; restricting the termination or 
  1.4             cancellation of salvage on rebuilt vehicles; proposing 
  1.5             coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 325F.
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  [325F.6645] [NEW MOTOR VEHICLE WARRANTIES; 
  1.8   COVERAGE ON SALVAGE AND REBUILT VEHICLES.] 
  1.9      A new motor vehicle manufacture's express warranty may not 
  1.10  be terminated or canceled because the motor vehicle has 
  1.11  sustained damage by collision or other occurrence which exceeds 
  1.12  70 percent of its actual cash value immediately before 
  1.13  sustaining the damage or because it is a total loss vehicle as 
  1.14  defined in section 325F.6642.  The warranty may exclude from 
  1.15  coverage those systems or parts which have been repaired or 
  1.16  replaced on these vehicles, but must continue coverage for the 
  1.17  remaining term of the warranty for systems or parts which were 
  1.18  not damaged. 
  1.19     For purposes of this section, "manufacturer's express 
  1.20  warranty" has the meaning given in section 325F.665, subdivision 
  1.21  1.
