A bill for an act
 relating to transportation; appropriating money for intercity passenger rail corridors
and projects.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin INTERCITY PASSENGER RAIL CORRIDORS AND PROJECTS;
APPROPRIATION.

new text begin (a) $26,000,000 in fiscal year 2024 is appropriated from the general fund to the
commissioner of transportation for intercity passenger rail corridors and projects as identified
in the state rail plan under Minnesota Statutes, section 174.03, subdivision 1b, or other
national, regional, or interregional planning studies.

new text begin (b) This appropriation is for expenditure by the commissioner or for grants to political
subdivisions and is available for the planning and development of intercity passenger rail
corridors and projects consistent with passenger rail implementation and policy as outlined
in the state rail plan.
