A bill for an act
relating to education; clarifying the learning
opportunities available through
desegregation/integration plans; amending Minnesota
Statutes 2004, section 124D.86, subdivision 1.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2004, section 124D.86,
subdivision 1, is amended to read:


Subdivision 1.

Use of revenue.

Integration revenue under
this section must be used for programs established undernew text begin :

Education according to Minnesota Rules, parts 3535.0100 to
3535.0180, or under court ordernew text begin ; or

new text begin (2) section 120B.13, providing international baccalaureate
programs that offer high school students opportunities for a
world class education, among other advantages, and consistent
with a desegregation plan under this section

The revenue must be used to create or enhance learning
opportunities which are designed to provide opportunities for
students to have increased interracial contacts through
classroom experiences, staff initiatives, and other
educationally related programs.
