  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to health; defining assisted living facility 
  1.3             for purposes of long-term care insurance; proposing 
  1.4             coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 144D.
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [144D.015] [ASSISTED LIVING FACILITY DEFINITION 
  1.7   FOR LONG-TERM CARE INSURANCE PURPOSES.] 
  1.8      For purposes of consistency with terminology commonly used 
  1.9   in long-term care insurance policies, a housing with services 
  1.10  establishment that is registered in accordance with section 
  1.11  144D.03 and that holds, or contracts with an individual or 
  1.12  entity that holds, a home care license and all other licenses, 
  1.13  permits, registrations, or other governmental approvals as are 
  1.14  legally required for delivery of the services the establishment 
  1.15  offers or provides to its residents, constitutes an "assisted 
  1.16  living facility" or "assisted living residence."
