A bill for an act
relating to workforce development; appropriating money for robotics teams and
STEM internships.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION.

new text begin $3,000,000 in fiscal year 2024 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
of employment and economic development for a grant to FIRST in Upper Midwest to
support competitive robotics teams and prepare youth for careers in science, technology,
engineering, and math (STEM) fields. Of this amount, $2,000,000 is for creating internships
for high school students to work at private companies in STEM fields, including the payment
of student stipends.
