  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to education; increasing the dollar amount of 
  1.3             revenue bonds that the higher education facilities 
  1.4             authority may issue; amending Minnesota Statutes 1996, 
  1.5             section 136A.29, subdivision 9. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1996, section 136A.29, 
  1.8   subdivision 9, is amended to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 9.  The authority is authorized and empowered to 
  1.10  issue revenue bonds whose aggregate principal amount at any time 
  1.11  shall not exceed $350,000,000 $500,000,000 and to issue notes, 
  1.12  bond anticipation notes, and revenue refunding bonds of the 
  1.13  authority under the provisions of sections 136A.25 to 136A.42, 
  1.14  to provide funds for acquiring, constructing, reconstructing, 
  1.15  enlarging, remodeling, renovating, improving, furnishing, or 
  1.16  equipping one or more projects or parts thereof.
