A bill for an act
relating to transportation; increasing motorcycle endorsement fees; amending
Minnesota Statutes 2018, section 171.06, subdivision 2a.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2018, section 171.06, subdivision 2a, is amended to read:


Subd. 2a.

Two-wheeled vehicle endorsement fee.

(a) The fee for any duplicate driver's
license obtained for the purpose of adding a two-wheeled vehicle endorsement is increased
by deleted text begin $18.50deleted text end new text begin $26.50new text end for each first such duplicate license and deleted text begin $13deleted text end new text begin $17new text end for each renewal thereof.
The additional fee must be paid into the state treasury and credited as follows:

(1) deleted text begin $11deleted text end new text begin $19new text end of the additional fee for each first duplicate license, and deleted text begin $7deleted text end new text begin $11new text end of the
additional fee for each renewal, must be credited to the motorcycle safety fund, which is
hereby created; and

(2) the remainder of the additional fee must be credited to the general fund.

(b) All application forms prepared by the commissioner for two-wheeled vehicle
endorsements must clearly state the amount of the total fee that is dedicated to the motorcycle
safety fund.
