  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to traffic regulations; regulating certain 
  1.3             operation of law enforcement vehicles; amending 
  1.4             Minnesota Statutes 2002, section 169.98, by adding a 
  1.5             subdivision. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2002, section 169.98, is 
  1.8   amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 1c.  [VEHICLE OUT OF SERVICE.] When a motor vehicle 
  1.10  governed by subdivision 1 is being operated by a person not 
  1.11  referenced in subdivision 1a, the vehicle's emergency lights 
  1.12  must be hooded and any references on the vehicle to a law 
  1.13  enforcement agency must be covered from view with signs 
  1.14  indicating, in lettering at least three inches in height, that 
  1.15  the vehicle is out of service.
