  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to traffic regulations; allowing permit for 
  1.3             articulated buses up to 60 feet in length when 
  1.4             operated by a motor carrier of passengers; amending 
  1.5             Minnesota Statutes 2002, section 169.86, subdivision 6.
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2002, section 169.86, 
  1.8   subdivision 6, is amended to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 6.  [ARTICULATED BUS.] Articulated buses operated by 
  1.10  public transit operators, and by motor carriers of passengers 
  1.11  registered under section 221.0252, may exceed the length and 
  1.12  weight limitations of this chapter, subject only to an annual 
  1.13  permit from the commissioner for such operation, and shall not 
  1.14  be subject to any city ordinance or to any permit from any local 
  1.15  road authority.  The application for a permit shall contain such 
  1.16  information as may be required by the commissioner. 
  1.17     [EFFECTIVE DATE.] This section is effective the day 
  1.18  following final enactment.
