  1.1                          A bill for an act
  1.2             relating to taxation; property taxes; adjusting aid 
  1.3             payments for an incorrect estimate of certain public 
  1.4             defender costs in Dakota county. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [HACA ADJUSTMENT; DAKOTA COUNTY.] 
  1.7      The homestead and agricultural credit aid offset for the 
  1.8   1995 public defender costs for Dakota county shall be changed 
  1.9   from the $644,000 amount as contained in Minnesota Statutes 
  1.10  1994, section 477A.012, subdivision 7, paragraph (b), to a 
  1.11  corrected amount of $492,000.  The $152,000 adjustment results 
  1.12  from an incorrect estimate of Dakota county's public defender 
  1.13  costs which were transferred to the state under Laws 1994, 
  1.14  chapter 636, article 11, section 1.  The adjustment amount of 
  1.15  $152,000 provided for under this section is a permanent aid 
  1.16  increase to Dakota county made under section 273.1398, 
  1.17  subdivision 2. 
  1.18     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.19     Section 1 is effective for homestead and agricultural 
  1.20  credit aid paid to Dakota county beginning in calendar year 1995 
  1.21  and subsequent years.
