  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to state lands; authorizing private sale of 
  1.3             certain tax-forfeited land that borders public water 
  1.4             in St. Louis county. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [PRIVATE SALE OF TAX-FORFEITED LAND; ST. LOUIS 
  1.7   COUNTY.] 
  1.8      (a) Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, sections 92.45, and 
  1.9   282.018, subdivision 1, and the public sale provisions of 
  1.10  Minnesota Statutes, chapter 282, St. Louis county may convey by 
  1.11  private sale the tax-forfeited land bordering public water that 
  1.12  is described in paragraph (c), under the remaining provisions of 
  1.13  Minnesota Statutes, chapter 282. 
  1.14     (b) The land described in paragraph (c) may be sold by 
  1.15  private sale to the iron range resources and rehabilitation 
  1.16  board.  The conveyance must be in a form approved by the 
  1.17  attorney general. 
  1.18     (c) The land that may be conveyed is located in St. Louis 
  1.19  county, consists of about 30.25 acres, and is described as:  
  1.20  23/24 undivided interest in Government Lot 5, Section 32, 
  1.21  Township 59 North, Range 15 West. 
  1.22     (d) The county has determined that the county's land 
  1.23  management interests would best be served by this private sale.
