  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to human services; creating a military 
  1.3             exception for child care assistance; appropriating 
  1.4             money; amending Minnesota Statutes 2002, section 
  1.5             119B.03, by adding a subdivision. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2002, section 119B.03, is 
  1.8   amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 4a.  [MILITARY EXCEPTION.] Notwithstanding 
  1.10  subdivision 4, a family that was receiving child care assistance 
  1.11  prior to a family member being called to active military duty 
  1.12  shall be entitled to receive child care assistance once active 
  1.13  military duty ends, provided the family continues to meet 
  1.14  eligibility requirements. 
  1.15     Sec. 2.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.16     $....... in fiscal year 2004 is appropriated from the 
  1.17  general fund to the commissioner of human services for the 
  1.18  purposes of section 1.
