  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to natural resources; requiring a report of 
  1.3             tribal agreement-related costs. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [REPORT REQUIRED.] 
  1.6      By January 3, 2005, the legislative auditor shall report to 
  1.7   the legislature all costs incurred by state and local 
  1.8   governments associated with any agreement between the state and 
  1.9   a tribe related to the management of game and fish or other 
  1.10  natural resources or to the administration of treaties.  Costs 
  1.11  reported must include expenditures for outsourcing and any 
  1.12  payments to federal agencies for assistance in administering or 
  1.13  implementing agreements.  The legislative auditor shall itemize 
  1.14  the costs incurred by category and year, since the commencement 
  1.15  of any agreement or since July 1, 1994, whichever is most recent.
