  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to education funding; authorizing a 
  1.3             technology grant for independent school district No. 
  1.4             203, Hayfield; appropriating money. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [TECHNOLOGY GRANT; HAYFIELD.] 
  1.7      (a) $144,000 is appropriated in fiscal year 2000 from the 
  1.8   general fund to the commissioner of children, families, and 
  1.9   learning for a technology grant to independent school district 
  1.10  No. 203, Hayfield. 
  1.11     (b) The grant must be used to purchase and install cabling 
  1.12  and wiring, provide network and Internet capabilities, purchase 
  1.13  new computers, and ensure appropriate telecommunications access 
  1.14  throughout the school district. 
  1.15     (c) This appropriation is available until June 30, 2001. 
  1.16     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.17     Section 1 is effective July 1, 1999.
