A bill for an act
relating to education; amending the Pupil Fair Dismissal Act; limiting dismissals
for certain pupils; amending Minnesota Statutes 2018, section 121A.45, subdivision
2.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2018, section 121A.45, subdivision 2, is amended to read:


Subd. 2.

Grounds for dismissal.

new text begin A school district must not dismiss a child participating
or enrolled in a prekindergarten program or a pupil in kindergarten through grade 12 except
as provided in this subdivision. A school district may dismiss a pupil in grade 3 through 5
for willful conduct that endangers the pupil or other pupils or surrounding persons, including
school district employees. A school district may dismiss
