American Registry; requiring a report.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

appropriated from the general fund to the Department of Education in the fiscal year

new text begin (a) For a grant to the African American Registry:

new text begin (b) The African American Registry must use grant funds to develop a Readability Level
System and integrate the system into the Teachers' Forum in order to help teachers and
teacher candidates improve reading literacy comprehension. The African American Registry
must allow Minnesota teacher preparation institutions and K-12 schools to use the reading
maturity metrics in the Readability Level System. By January 15, 2024, the African American
Registry must submit to the legislature a detailed report documenting how the grant funds
were used.
