  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to the Minnesota historical society; 
  1.3             appropriating money for a grant-in-aid program for 
  1.4             county and local historical societies. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.7      $500,000 is appropriated from the general fund for each 
  1.8   year of the biennium ending June 30, 1999, to the Minnesota 
  1.9   historical society for the grant-in-aid program for county and 
  1.10  local historical societies.  The Minnesota historical society 
  1.11  shall set program guidelines and criteria and shall require a 
  1.12  one-to-one match.
