A bill for an act
relating to alcohol; allowing silent auctions to sell alcohol for charitable
purposes; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 340A.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

new text begin Notwithstanding sections 340A.401, 340A.414, and 340A.505, a nonprofit
organization conducting a silent auction or other fund raising event may sell wine, not to
exceed five bottles; beer, not to exceed one 24-bottle case; or intoxicating liquors, not to
exceed one liter, providing that funds from the sale are dedicated to the charitable purposes
of the nonprofit organization, such sales are limited to one occasion per year, and the
alcohol is only provided to persons who demonstrate that they are 21 years of age or older.
