A bill for an act
relating to agriculture; appropriating money for grants to The Good Acre for the
Local Emergency Assistance Farmer Fund program.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

new text begin (a) $400,000 in fiscal year 2024 and $400,000 in fiscal year 2025 are appropriated from
the general fund to the commissioner of agriculture for grants to The Good Acre for the
Local Emergency Assistance Farmer Fund program to purchase produce from emerging
farmers in Minnesota for donation to hunger relief organizations in Minnesota. Of this
amount, $100,000 each year is for administrative costs, including the development and
oversight of pilot programs under paragraph (b), and training and technical assistance for
participating farmers.

of agriculture for a grant to The Good Acre to purchase produce for Local Emergency
Assistance Farmer Fund pilot programs in greater Minnesota. The appropriation in this
paragraph is onetime and available until June 30, 2026.
