  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to health; insurance; providing for certain 
  1.3             breast cancer coverage; proposing coding for new law 
  1.4             in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 62A. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [62A.307] [BREAST CANCER COVERAGE.] 
  1.7      Subdivision 1.  [SCOPE OF COVERAGE.] This section applies 
  1.8   to all health plans as defined in section 62A.011. 
  1.9      Subd. 2.  [REQUIRED COVERAGE.] Every health plan included 
  1.10  in subdivision 1 must provide to each covered person who is a 
  1.11  resident of Minnesota coverage for the treatment of breast 
  1.12  cancer by high-dose chemotherapy with autologous bone marrow 
  1.13  transplantation and for expenses arising from the treatment.  
  1.14     Subd. 3.  [GREATER COINSURANCE OR COPAYMENT PROHIBITED.] 
  1.15  Coverage under this section shall not be subject to any greater 
  1.16  coinsurance or copayment than that applicable to any other 
  1.17  coverage provided by the health plan. 
  1.18     Subd. 4.  [GREATER DEDUCTIBLE PROHIBITED.] Coverage under 
  1.19  this section shall not be subject to any greater deductible than 
  1.20  that applicable to any other coverage provided by the health 
  1.21  plan. 
  1.22     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE; APPLICATION.] 
  1.23     Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment 
  1.24  and applies to health plans offered, issued, sold, or renewed to 
  1.25  provide coverage to a Minnesota resident on or after that date.
