 relating to waters; appropriating money for grants to comply with water
protection rules.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin NPDES/SDS PERMIT COMPLIANCE GRANTS.

new text begin $....... is appropriated from the clean water fund to the commissioner of the Pollution
Control Agency for grants to local units of government to implement and comply with
changes to the requirements for a construction stormwater general permit-NPDES/SDS
adopted by the agency on August 1, 2008, including implementation of best management
practices, runoff controls, erosion prevention, and ditch stabilization, in order to protect
water quality in lakes, rivers, and streams and to protect groundwater from degradation.
